Sea Wolf
I was sipping a brandy from Jerez when my blind date showed up at the restaurant. He was limping on a wooden leg. I didn’t mind. He wore an eye patch that highlighted the intense blue of his other eye. He had a hook instead of a right hand, which he used to pick up the croquettes and pop them into my mouth. It was so romantic. We discovered we had a lot in common: we were both crazy about movies, musicals, and pickled sardines. He suggested we take a little trip on his little sailboat. I gladly accepted.
We’re now sailing through a fierce storm, about to round Cape Horn. I can’t stop throwing up and struggling not to fall overboard, while she steers the wheel and laughs at me heartily. I love her sense of humor.
